The Chassis Kit is the first of 3 kits required to build your very own ‘Eric’.

'Eric' is a 0-4-0 locomotive based on the locomotive featured in the book ‘Steam Trains in Your Garden’. This home builder kit comes with easy-to-follow graphic and written instructions and uses precision machined and milled components, so no specialist workshop machinery is required.

The chassis is built in 4 sections: Chassis Frame, Rolling Chassis, Cylinder Set, and Motion Set. It is designed for use with Roundhouse cylinders that are provided with the kit. See further information in the 'Eric' Kit Product Sheet. When ordering below please specify the control option required, as a Manual control option will have a reversing stand and lever included with the kit.

The components included in this kit are not exactly the same as shown in ‘Steam Trains in Your Garden’ as they have been redesigned to enable volume manufacturing and adaption to Roundhouse Cylinders. All parts provided are unpainted.

The Chassis, Steam and Body Kits to complete 'Eric' are ordered separately so you can build at your own pace. Please place your order to ensure you are included in the next production run. We anticipate this will be ready to dispatch in July 2025.

Any 'Eric' parts previously obtained from Brian or other sources won't be compatible and a copy of the book is not required to make this kit.
